Management ArticleOUR MISSION At RBS our mission or purpose is very simple – SATISFY OUR CUSTOMERS! We can’t be the company providing World Class Business Services unless we have satisfied customers. Yes, YOU will have customers right away! Customers are all of the people who work in the buildings in which you will work. Add our customer’s customers to the list and it may seem like a lot of people to satisfy all at once. The good news is that you will have a supervisor and other associates who can show you exactly what to do. If we all stay focused on the result and are enthusiastic, it is easy to satisfy almost everyone. We will teach you how to enthusiastically and professionally accomplish your daily work. If you treat your customers the way you would want to be treated, and give them the kind of service and attention you would want yourself, you will instantly become an expert at “Customer Relation.” In a service business like ours, satisfying the customer better than our competition keeps us in business and gives our associates opportunities to grow with the company. CommendationsDerrick Fisher A few weeks ago I was walking on 4 main and Derrick was exchanging the linen cart on 5NA. I looked and noticed the floor was dirty and said in passing we need to get that floor cleaned. I was going to tell the housekeeper. Derrick I found out later had taken it upon himself to get with the housekeeper and made arrangements to get the floor cleaned. I was pleasantly surprised. I think if more people were like Derrick and took the initiative to get things done, what a great work environment we would have. I want
to thank him. He did a great job!
Adrian Wilson I just wanted to personally thank Adrian for problem solving the linen shortage at White Pine. The problem was on-going and you were able to solve it by being creative and attentive. Thank you for your timely response. I know the staff and patients are grateful also……

Fred Lake Craig Czarnecki, our Director, and other staff members of the office have expressed compliments regarding Fred Lake, our RBS cleaning person. He is doing a great job and we felt you should be made aware of his service. He is considered by all to be the best cleaning person this office has ever experienced. We would like to tell him we appreciate his services.

Safety ArticleHeat Exhaustion refers to overheating of the body due to excessive loss of water or, in rare cases, salt depletion. Symptoms include thirst, headache, pallor, dizziness and possibly nausea or vomiting. In severe cases, your heart may race and you may feel disoriented. Heatstroke occurs when the body’s thermoregulatory system stops working. Many of the symptoms are the same as for heat exhaustion. However, cessation of sweating, difficulty walking, disorientation and fainting or unconsciousness indicates heatstroke. People suffering heatstroke will be too disoriented to help themselves. Learn to recognize the symptoms and treat the problem in someone else. Remedies: For heat exhaustion, stop strenuous activities and get out of the sun – preferably into an air-conditioned building. Drink water or, better still, a sports beverage, taking it slowly rather than gulping it down. If you don’t feel better within 30 minutes, go to a hospital emergency room. Heat exhaustion is not fatal, but heatstroke can be. The key symptom to look for is disorientation. A person who is functioning well mentally isn’t in danger. Someone who is becoming “jelly brained” is in trouble. Pack ice around the person’s neck, armpit and groin, splash water on the skin, and fan him or her. Elevate the legs. If the person is conscious, give him or her plenty of fluids – 1 – 2 quarts – preferably a sports beverage, but water is fine. The person will probably be nauseated and may not want to drink anything, but fluids are essential. f you get heatstroke once, you may be likely to get it again. All outside workers should take care to dress appropriately for the heat. Wear synthetics, not cotton. Wear a light cap, sunglasses and sunscreen (which actually helps cool your skin), and drink, drink, drink. Try to schedule vigorous activities during the cooler hours of the day. Covenant Health Care
